Top Prospect Hits for Cycle in Triple-A
USA TODAY Sports

As the Triple-A season for the Oklahoma City Dodgers wraps up in a couple weeks, the team's first cycle was hit this season by Dodgers No. 10 prospect Jorbit Vivas.

Vivas is a 22-year-old second baseman who signed out of Venezuela with the Dodgers back in 2017.

Since then, Vivas has been using his 60-grade hit tool by putting up competitive at-bats and consistently being one of the batters to strike out the least in the minor leagues.

The Dodgers have one of the top farm systems in all of baseball with rookies like James Outman, Bobby Miller, Ryan Pepiot, Michael Busch, Miguel Vargas, Gavin Stone, and Emmet Sheehan all making impacts at some point for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023.

Vivas spent most of the year in Double-A for the Tulsa Drillers where he hit an impressive .280 average with a .391 on-base percentage and an .827 OPS. Vivas also had 54 walks to just 52 strikeouts.

Being called up to Triple-A, Vivas has hit a .281 average with a .768 OPS after hitting for the cycle today. Vivas has 10 strikeouts to 7 walks in Triple-A.

Vivas is projected to make his MLB debut in 2024, according to MLB Pipeline, but the Dodgers like to take their time with prospects, so 2024 is a possibility but 2025 may be a little more realistic.

The scrappy hitter is very reminiscent of Luis Arraez of the Miami Marlins who looks to put the ball in play every time he swings by putting the barrel on the ball and using the entire field.
